Some More Roomboxes . . . . The only projects I tend to finish . . . .

Kira's Southwest Roombox

The Southwestern Roombox

Originally this box was a shallow wooden container that was sold containing Melissa & Doug's Wooden Birthday Cake toy.  My 3-year-old daughter got the toy; I took the box!  It sat around while I debated what to do with it.  It was very shallow (only 1-3/4" deep) and the bare wood was not pretty enough to stain.  Then came a rainy day and my daughter's persistent, "Can I paint?  Can I paint?  Can I paint?"

I gave her the box and some washable Crayola paints.  I also gave her a window I had and a piece of trim wood (which would become the shelf to the right of the window).  When she finished I found that I had a home for my catci plants (on the shelf), my pull-toy donkey (above the window), and a few pottery pieces I had collected over the years.  These items had previously been homeless, sitting in a glass jewerly box.  Now they have a much more colorful home, thanks to my 3-year-old daughter and a rainy day!

This Birdfeeder is decorated, but still incomplete as I am working on the homeless lady's outfit, rusted shopping cart and birds.  Although it is not pictured, the cart is now rusted and full of garbage.  The birds are all bought and ready to be glued in.  The homeless lady is wigged and I have dressed her in appropriate clothing.  But she still needs a patch on her flannel shirt and a ratty old scarf around her neck.  Then she can feed the birds in this miniature park scene . . . .
Birdfeeder

Victorian Music Room
A plain white roombox to house my music room.  All I added was the green marble flooring, the furniture and the accessories.  The doll I dressed during a JoAnne Robert's class.  That is my wedding photo on the wall behind the doll - it was a wallet size photo that I stuck in an empty picture frame.  I made the birdcage under the picture from a kit.  The black handpainted furniture is by Bespaq.  The white chairs and sofa are by Town Square Miniatures by Aztec.
